EV chargers
Solar EV charger in Seville, Spain: charge your electric car with your own solar panels
A solar EV charger in Seville, Spain lets you charge your electric car with the energy your roof does not use. We install the wallbox with its meter so it charges only from solar surplus, or from surplus plus a minimum from the grid, and if you do not have panels yet, we carry out the complete installation.

A solar EV charger: making the most of the Seville sun
Seville has about 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, and each kWp of panels produces roughly 1,600 to 1,750 kWh a year. An electric car covering 15,000 km a year uses 2,400 to 2,550 kWh. Do the maths: with about 2 kWp of extra panels on your roof you cover almost all of your mileage if you charge during the day. That is why a solar EV charger makes so much sense here, especially if you work from home or are retired and the car spends the day on the drive.
How charging from solar surplus works
The solar charger reads a meter installed in your fuse board (breaker panel), which knows at every moment how much the panels are producing and how much the home is using. With that information it works in one of these modes:
- Surplus only: the car charges solely with energy that would otherwise be exported. If a cloud passes or you switch the oven on, it slows down or stops.
- Surplus plus minimum: it always charges at least at 6 A (about 1.4 kW), the minimum set by the charging standard, and goes up when there is spare sun. It is the most practical mode day to day.
- Normal scheduled charging: for nights or sunless days, in the off-peak period of your tariff.
The same meter acts as dynamic load balancing, so the charger will not trip your power limiter (ICP) either.
Which chargers support solar charging
We install the chargers with a solar mode most commonly used in Spain, including the Wallbox Pulsar Plus Solar-Ready, the V2C Trydan and the Circutor eHome, as well as chargers that integrate with the inverter of the photovoltaic system (Huawei, Fronius, SMA, SolarEdge or Sigenergy, among others). The choice depends mainly on your inverter: if you already have panels, we look for the charger that works best with it. More detail on our EV charger brands page.
| Charger with solar function | Guide price of the unit |
|---|---|
| Circutor eHome | 639 euros |
| V2C Trydan | 779.50 to 782 euros |
| Wallbox Pulsar Plus Solar-Ready | 823 to 846 euros |
Prices for the unit only, VAT included, based on 2026 market prices.
If you do not have panels yet
We offer the complete package: solar panels for self-consumption sized with the car in mind, a solar charger and, if it pays off, a battery. Guide prices for photovoltaics in 2026:
| Installation | Guide price (plus 21 % VAT) |
|---|---|
| Residential photovoltaics, per kWp | 850 to 1,300 euros |
| 5 kW installation | 5,500 to 7,000 euros |
| 6 kWp with a 5 kWh battery | 10,000 to 14,000 euros |
| Solar charger installed in a home with panels | from 1,100 euros (1,331 with VAT) |
The photovoltaic system is legalised as self-consumption (autoconsumo, Royal Decree 244/2019) and the charger complies with ITC-BT-52: a dedicated circuit, a 30 mA type A RCD with 6 mA DC detection or a type B RCD, a circuit breaker and surge protection.
Is a battery worth it?
If the car sleeps at home but is out at work during the day, direct solar charging achieves little. A home battery stores the midday surplus and delivers it at night to the car or the house. In 2025, 61 % of new residential installations already included a battery. We run the numbers with your real consumption before recommending one, and the solar batteries page explains the options.
How we work
- Home visit: roof, orientation, existing inverter, fuse board and garage.
- Production and consumption study, including the car, with a proposal for kWp, charger and battery.
- Installation of the charger, the meter and, where needed, the photovoltaic system.
- Solar mode set-up and a test with the car plugged in.
- Boletín and legalisation of the charger and the self-consumption system, with an itemised invoice for the deduction.
Villas and warehouses around Seville where it works best
Solar charging is almost a must in the villas and townhouses of the Aljarafe (Tomares, Mairena, Bormujos, Espartinas or Gines), in Montequinto and in the houses of Entrenúcleos, Alcalá de Guadaíra or Residencial Lorca in San José de la Rinconada. If your home is new, check whether the developer has left communal photovoltaics or pre-wiring: it changes the calculation. If you live in a flat, direct solar charging in the communal garage is only possible with shared self-consumption.
In warehouses on industrial estates, a fleet that works during the day charges from the solar roof: we explain it in EV charging for fleets. For a house, start with the home EV charger for houses. More solutions under solar and energy efficiency and EV charger installation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I charge my electric car with my solar panels?
Yes, with a compatible charger that reads the installation meter and adjusts its power to whatever the panels have spare. It can charge only from surplus, or from surplus plus a minimum from the grid, so the car is not left half charged on a cloudy day.
How many panels do I need to charge the car?
In Seville each kWp produces roughly 1,600 to 1,750 kWh a year. A car that covers 15,000 km uses 2,400 to 2,550 kWh, so about 2 extra kWp cover almost all of your yearly mileage, as long as you charge during the day.
What if the car is only at home at night?
Then direct solar charging achieves little, because the panels are not producing. The options are a home battery that stores the daytime surplus, charging at weekends and on sunny days when you work from home, or combining solar charging with the off-peak tariff at night.
Can I claim the tax deduction if I install the charger with panels?
Yes. In 2026 the charger keeps the 15 % income tax deduction, up to 600 euros, extended by Royal Decree-law 7/2026 until 31 December 2026. The home also keeps the deductions for energy efficiency improvements, extended by the same law. We give you an itemised invoice.
Does an ordinary charger work with solar panels?
A charger without a solar function will still charge, but it cannot tell whether the energy comes from the panels or the grid. To use your surplus you need a model with a solar mode and its meter, or an inverter management system that controls the charger.
Can I use the car to power the house?
It is called V2H and it is possible today with an approved bidirectional charger and a compatible car. There are still few models and the equipment is expensive. If you are interested, we leave the circuit and fuse board ready for a bidirectional unit and choose an upgradeable charger.
