Electrician in Dos Hermanas: one town, three kinds of home

Dos Hermanas is the second largest city in the province of Seville, with about 140,430 residents in 2024 according to the Urban Observatory of Pablo de Olavide University. For an electrician it is not one place but three areas with very different installations:

  • The town centre and its surrounding estates, with one and two storey houses and blocks of flats (apartments) of various ages, many with their original wiring.
  • Montequinto and Condequinto, an established area of townhouses, detached villas and blocks with garages, closer to Seville than to the centre of Dos Hermanas itself.
  • Entrenúcleos, the largest residential development in Andalusia, where new homes are handed over almost every month.

Knowing which of the three you live in tells us in advance what we will find and what to bring.

The town centre: installations that fall short

In the old village houses and the flats on the estates around Avenida de España, it is common to find an installation built up bit by bit: an old fuse board with a single RCD (GFCI), sockets (outlets) without earthing in the bedrooms, and additions over the years, an air conditioner here and an induction hob there, hanging off circuits never designed for them. In summer, with air conditioning running in several rooms, breakers trip and extension leads get hot.

Here we are mostly asked to replace the board with one that has several RCDs and separate circuits, to add earthing where it is missing and, when a kitchen or bathroom is renovated, to rewire the old installation while the walls are open. If you are putting the electricity contract of a home more than 20 years old in your name, you will probably be asked for a new electrical certificate (boletín).

Montequinto and Condequinto: townhouses with their own garage

Montequinto grew with developments of townhouses and blocks with communal areas, well connected to Seville by metro line 1 (Condequinto, Montequinto and Olivar de Quintos stops) and by the motorway. Many families have a private garage, a garden and two cars, which changes the jobs:

  • An EV charger in your own garage, usually a dedicated circuit from the main fuse board. See our home EV charger for houses.
  • Garden lighting, outdoor sockets and irrigation, protected against damp.
  • Boards without surge protection, worth adding if you have solar panels, a charger or a smart home system.

Entrenúcleos: new homes without lamps or charger

Entrenúcleos covers more than 700 hectares between Dos Hermanas and Montequinto and is planned for about 20,000 homes and 50,000 residents, next to Loyola University and the Real Betis training ground, with metro at Olivar de Quintos and C-1 and C-4 commuter trains. Insur, Exxacon, AQ Acentor, Aedas Homes, Vía Célere, Pryconsa, Inbisa, Habitat, Amenabar, Vía Ágora and Caralca are building at the same time.

New homes are handed over with bare light points and with conduit for a charger up to the parking space, but no charger. So in the first weeks after getting the keys we are mostly asked for:

  1. An EV charger in the communal garage, with the notice to the comunidad and the certificate.
  2. Lamps, ceiling lights and downlights in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms.
  3. Sockets on the terrace, the kitchen island or by the bed, and motorised awnings in penthouses.

Developments, timings and a snagging (punch list) checklist are on our page for new builds in Entrenúcleos. Subsidised housing is also pending in Las Portadas and Ibarburu, and El Quintillo will add up to 923 affordable homes after 2028.

Industrial estates, shops and emergencies

The La Isla industrial estate and the business areas along the motorway have warehouses with three-phase supply and van fleets: there we install 11 to 22 kW chargers, warehouse boards and protection. In the centre we look after shops and bars. And at any hour, our 24-hour emergency electrician handles power cuts, RCDs that will not reset or a burning smell.

Electrical certificate (boletín)

The electrical certificate in Spain, known by everyone as the boletín and officially the CIE (certificado de instalación eléctrica), is the document a registered installer company signs to confirm that your installation meets the regulations. Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Montequinto, Condequinto and Entrenúcleos, or only central Dos Hermanas?

The whole municipality: the town centre and its estates, Montequinto, Condequinto, Olivar de Quintos, Fuente del Rey and the new developments of Entrenúcleos. When you call we give you an estimated arrival time based on where you are and the type of fault, and if it is not urgent we offer a time slot that suits you.

How much is a boletín in Dos Hermanas?

For a home that needs no work, the boletín starts at about 70 euros plus VAT as a market reference. If the installation is more than 20 years old, has no earthing or the fuse board does not comply, it has to be upgraded first and the price rises with what needs changing. We confirm a fixed price after seeing it.

I have bought a new flat in Entrenúcleos. Do I need the community to approve my EV charger?

No. Article 17.5 of the Horizontal Property Law only requires you to notify the president or administrator beforehand, and the Supreme Court confirmed in December 2025 that no authorisation is needed even if the cable crosses common areas. If the comunidad has no officers yet, you notify the developer or the company managing it.
