Electrician in Tomares, Seville, Spain: villas, pools, solar panels and EV chargers

Finding an electrician in Tomares usually means finding someone who understands villas: a pool, a garden, a garage, air conditioning throughout and, more and more, solar panels and an electric car. We work in Aljamar, El Zaudín, the village centre and the new phases of Altos del Aire.

Villa with a pool and solar panels in a residential development in Tomares, Seville, Spain

Electrician in Tomares: almost all villas and townhouses

Tomares has about 25,492 residents and sits right next to Seville, on top of the Aljarafe ridge, a few minutes from Triana and Los Remedios. It is a town of detached and semi-detached houses: villa developments such as Aljamar or those around El Zaudín, townhouses with gardens and, in recent years, the new neighbourhood of Altos del Aire. That shapes what people ask for and how we work: there is space, a garage, a roof, and summer consumption is high.

What we find in Tomares homes

Many developments were built between the 1980s and 2000s. The installations are generally in good condition inside, but they have taken on loads nobody planned for:

  • Air conditioning in every room, which pushes the contracted power to its limit in July and August and trips the power limiter in the meter.
  • A pool with an old control panel, without its own RCD (GFCI) or with underwater lighting at 230 V instead of 12 V.
  • Garden lights and outdoor sockets with boxes that let water in, the number one cause of an RCD tripping with the first rains.
  • Fuse boards without surge protection, not advisable once you add solar panels, a charger or a smart home system.

Charger in the garage and solar panels on the roof

In Tomares the charger is rarely in a communal garage; it goes in the garage or carport of the house. We run a dedicated circuit from the main fuse board and, if the house already uses a lot, add load balancing so you do not need to raise the power. Details on our home EV charger for houses page.

The second piece is solar panels for self-consumption. With about 3,000 hours of sunshine a year around Seville, a 5 kW installation covers a good part of the air conditioning and the pool pump, and if you work from home or the car sits at home during the day, you can charge it with the surplus. A car doing 15,000 kilometres a year uses roughly 2,400 to 2,550 kWh, which about 2 kWp of extra panels can cover.

Pools, gardens and outdoor work

Tomares is probably the Aljarafe town where we do the most outdoor work. Our outdoor, pools and gates section covers everything outside the house, and the most common jobs here are:

  1. Renewing the pool pump panel and switching the pool light to 12 V LED.
  2. A line for the pool heat pump (electrical part about 200 to 600 euros as a guide).
  3. Garden and path lights, about 50 to 120 euros per point as a reference; see lighting.
  4. Gate and driveway motors with their own protected line.
  5. Motorised awnings and pergolas on porches and terraces.

Altos del Aire: the new neighbourhood

In the upper part of town, next to the Olivar del Zaudín park, Grupo Insur is developing Altos del Aire, a district of more than 450 homes in several phases: Mistral (200 homes with 3 and 4 bedrooms, from 361,900 euros), Siroco (84 homes with 1 and 2 bedrooms, from 221,300 euros) and Poniente (from 296,000 euros). These are flats with a communal garage, so the comunidad rule applies: a charger in your space only needs prior written notice to the president or administrator. At handover the light fittings and the charger are missing, and terrace sockets are usually worth adding.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to install an EV charger at a villa in Tomares?

As a guide, between 800 and 1,600 euros plus VAT for a single-phase charger, with a dedicated circuit, protection and certificate. If the house has a three-phase supply and you want to charge at 11 kW, the range rises to 1,600 to 2,800 euros. Until 31 December 2026 you can deduct 15% on your income tax if it is your own home.

Do you do the electrical work for the pool?

Yes. We fit or renew the pump control panel, 12 V underwater lighting, watertight sockets and the equipotential bonding required by regulation ITC-BT-31. The panel and connections cost about 400 to 1,200 euros as a guide, depending on what needs replacing.

I am buying in Altos del Aire. Can I plan the charger and solar panels in advance?

Yes, and it is worth doing early. With the plans of the home we tell you where the charger goes, which cable size is needed and whether the fuse board can take solar panels and a battery without changes. That way, when you get the keys, the installation is quicker and cheaper.

The air conditioning trips the power every afternoon in August. Is my installation faulty?

Usually it is the potencia contratada, the maximum power in your contract, not a fault. With air conditioning in every room, a pool pump and an oven, a villa can go over its contracted kW. We measure real consumption and tell you whether to raise the power, which needs a boletín in some cases, or to spread the loads.
