Services in this area

Air conditioning circuit

If your air conditioning trips the electricity, or you are about to install it in Seville, Spain, the electrician prepares a dedicated circuit from the fuse board to the split unit or the outdoor unit, with its own circuit breaker, so the power does not go off every summer afternoon. We also complete the pre-installation of new-build homes and connect thermostats.

Electric water heaters

For an electric water heater installation in Seville, Spain we leave the heater (the termo, as it is called in Spain) on its own circuit with the 4 mm² cable and 20 A breaker the regulation requires, an earthed connection and the appliance working. We replace old heaters, fix the termo that trips the RCD or will not heat, and check the socket that runs hot.

Induction hob circuit

The induction hob electrical requirements in Spain are clear: to fit an induction hob (cooktop) in Seville properly, the electrician runs a dedicated 6 mm² line from the fuse board, with its own 25 or 32 A circuit breaker and a connection box behind the unit. That way the hob works at full power and the electricity does not trip when it coincides with the oven.

Electric heating

We carry out electric heating installation in Seville, Spain: panel heaters (emisores térmicos), electric radiators and storage heaters mounted, connected and programmed, each with the circuit and protection it needs. First we calculate whether your potencia contratada (contracted power) can take the heating on top of the rest of the home, so the power does not trip on winter mornings.

Electric underfloor heating

We install electric underfloor heating in Seville, Spain with heating mats or cables under the floor, a floor thermostat and a dedicated circuit from the fuse box. It is the most comfortable way to have a warm bathroom in the morning or to heat a room during a renovation, with no radiators on show and no pipework.

Appliances tripping the power

If an appliance keeps tripping the electricity in your Seville home, we measure its insulation and consumption to find out whether it has a leak, whether it overloads the circuit or whether the problem lies in the installation. We tell you which appliance is failing, whether it is worth repairing and whether your circuit needs improving, with a clear diagnosis before you spend money on anything.

Dedicated circuits for appliances in Seville, built to the REBT

A powerful appliance plugged into a line designed for a lamp is one of the most common causes of tripping and burnt sockets (outlets). The REBT splits a home into circuits by use (ITC-BT-25), each with its own cable size and circuit breaker:

  • C3, cooker and oven: 6 mm² cable and a 25 A circuit breaker.
  • C4, washing machine, dishwasher and water heater: 4 mm² cable and a 20 A circuit breaker.
  • C8, electric heating and C9, air conditioning, in homes with high electrification.

If you are renovating your kitchen, all of this is planned as part of the electrical installation.

Air conditioning: the circuit no home in Seville should lack

At 40 degrees in summer, air conditioning is the appliance that puts most strain on an installation. We install the dedicated air conditioning line with its own protection from the fuse board (breaker panel) to the unit, whether it is a new split unit in a bedroom or the connection of a ducted pre-installation in a new build. The electrical pre-installation costs from around 300 euros, and a complete split with equipment 800 to 1,200 euros as a reference. If the air conditioning, the oven and the rest of the home together exceed your potencia contratada, see increase contracted power.

Induction hobs and electric water heaters

Switching from gas to induction, or to a more powerful hob, usually needs a new line: we install it with 6 mm² cable, a 25 or 32 A circuit breaker and adaptation of the fuse board, for 320 to 450 euros depending on the hob. The electric water heater (termo) goes on its C4 circuit with its own protection; installing or replacing one costs 100 to 600 euros, around 430 euros on average. If yours trips the RCD, the element may be leaking and the diagnosis below applies.

Electric heating and underfloor heating

We install storage heaters, radiators and panel heaters with lines of enough capacity and programming, for 60 to 150 euros per heater, excluding the appliance. Electric underfloor heating, with a heating mat or cable under the floor and a floor thermostat, costs 40 to 90 euros per m² installed and is very comfortable in bathrooms.

When an appliance trips the power

If the power always trips with the same appliance, it may be a leak in the appliance itself or an overloaded circuit. We measure the insulation and the appliance’s consumption to tell you whether to repair it, replace it or improve the line, with a diagnosis for 70 to 100 euros. If it is happening right now, see emergency electrician. Guide prices are on the prices page, and the other specialities in services.

  • Washing machine, dryer and dishwasher: earthed sockets on the C4 circuit, new lines for a dryer or dishwasher and protection against damp, 40 to 120 euros per socket. Also part of kitchen electrics.
  • Towel rails, extractor fans and small appliances: heated towel rails, bathroom fans with timers and hand dryers, respecting the bathroom safety zones (ITC-BT-27), 50 to 120 euros per appliance. Covered in bathroom electrics.
  • Boilers and heat pump water heaters: power supply, protection and controls for boilers, heat pump water heaters and aerothermal systems for hot water, 80 to 250 euros. Covered in heat pump electrics.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the power go off when I use the oven and the hob together?

Because both are usually on the same cooker and oven circuit, or because together they exceed your contracted power. If the kitchen circuit breaker trips, the circuit is too small; if the power-limiting switch in the meter cuts out, you need more potencia. We measure it and tell you whether you need a new line or a power increase.

Do I need a new circuit for an induction hob (cooktop)?

Almost always, if your kitchen is old. An induction hob needs a 6 mm² circuit with a 25 or 32 amp circuit breaker depending on its power, and in many kitchens from the 1970s and 1980s the line is thinner. As a reference, the installation costs from 320 euros (two zones) to 450 euros (four zones), plus VAT.

How much does the electrical pre-installation for air conditioning cost?

The dedicated line with its own protection from the fuse board to the unit costs from around 300 euros, depending on the distance and whether chasing is needed. If you also want the unit installed, a complete split system costs around 800 to 1,200 euros. We first check that your contracted power can take the air conditioning with the rest of the home.

My air conditioner keeps tripping the power. What can I do?

First find out which switch drops. If it is the RCD, there may be a leak in the unit or its line; if it is the circuit breaker, the circuit is overloaded or undersized; if it is the meter, you are over your contracted power. A diagnosis costs 70 to 100 euros and tells you whether to repair the unit, add a line or raise your potencia.
