Services in this area
Rewiring old apartments
Rewiring an apartment in Seville, Spain is the answer when the installation is more than 25 or 30 years old: fabric or dried-out cables, no earthing, a single RCD and a supply that cannot run the air conditioning and the induction hob at once. We renew cables, conduits, fuse board, earthing and fittings and hand you the boletín.
Fuse board replacement
A consumer unit replacement in Seville, Spain is the upgrade that adds the most safety without building work: main switch, several RCDs, one breaker per circuit and surge protection. We replace your old fuse box, or a board with a single RCD, with a new fuse board (breaker panel) sized for your power and your circuits.
Electrical certificate (boletín)
The electrical certificate in Spain, known by everyone as the boletín and officially the CIE (certificado de instalación eléctrica), is the document a registered installer company signs to confirm that your installation meets the regulations. You need it to connect the electricity, increase your power or change the account holder with an old installation. We inspect, certify and register it with the Junta de Andalucía in Seville.
Increase contracted power
You need to increase your electricity power in Spain when the smart meter cuts everything off as soon as the air conditioning, the oven and the washing machine run together. We check what power your installation can take, upgrade the supply cable, main switch and fuse board if needed, and issue the boletín so the distributor approves the increase.
New home wiring
We carry out the new home wiring in Seville, Spain from start to finish: fuse board, circuits, light points, sockets, earthing, certificate and legalisation, in newly built flats and villas. We work for private self-builders, builders and developers, with an electrification level designed around how the home will really be used.
Renovation electrics
If you are renovating your flat, renovation electrics in Seville, Spain are the moment to bring the installation up to the way you live today: new kitchen and bathroom circuits, fuse board, chases and conduits, light points where you need them and the boletín at the end. We work in coordination with your builder or renovation company.
Earthing
Earthing (grounding in the US, toma de tierra in Spain) is what allows your RCD to protect you from an electric shock. In Seville, Spain we carry out earthing installation and testing in flats and houses: earth rods or buried conductor, main earth line, connection of every circuit and a resistance measurement to confirm it works.
Single to three-phase
A single-phase to three-phase upgrade in Seville, Spain is what you need when your home or business is going to have very large loads: an 11 kW EV charger, certain aerothermal heat pumps or machinery. We adapt the riser cable, fit a three-phase fuse board, share the circuits between the phases and handle the boletín with the distributor.
Legalising an installation
Legalising an electrical installation in Seville, Spain is how you put in order a home, business premises or villa that never had a boletín (electrical installation certificate) or that falls short of the regulations. We inspect the installation, bring it up to the Spanish wiring regulations, write the technical design report and register the certificate with the Junta de Andalucía.
Design report and project
We prepare your electrical project in Seville, Spain when the installation requires one, and the technical design report (memoria técnica de diseño, MTD) when that is enough: shops, warehouses, EV chargers, solar panels and homes. We tell you which document you need before you buy any equipment, and we file it with the Junta de Andalucía, the regional government.
OCA inspection
An OCA electrical inspection in Seville, Spain is compulsory for large residential buildings, garages, swimming pools and premises open to the public. We prepare the installation before the inspector arrives, attend the visit with them and put right the defects they point out, so you get a favourable certificate.
Electrical inspection
A home electrical safety inspection in Seville, Spain tells you, with measurements rather than guesswork, what state your home is in: earthing, cable insulation, RCDs, fuse board and cable sizes. You get a report with what is fine, what is worth improving and what is urgent. Ideal before buying, renting or renovating.
New electricity connection
We manage your new electricity connection in Seville, Spain from start to finish: the boletín (electrical installation certificate) for the connection, the application to the distributor, energising the supply and, if needed, a new service connection. Whether you are moving into a new home or bringing back a supply that was cut off, we handle the paperwork and the coordination with e-distribución.
Extra sockets and lights
We install extra sockets in your apartment in Seville, Spain where you now use power strips, new light points, two-way switches, USB, data and TV sockets, and new lines for appliances that need them. It is one of the jobs most requested when moving into a new-build home or rearranging the furniture.
Kitchen electrics
Kitchen electrics in Seville, Spain need dedicated lines for the induction hob (cooktop) and the oven, another for the washing machine, dishwasher and water heater, and enough sockets along the worktop. We wire the circuits with the cross-section and protection the Spanish regulations require, in a new kitchen or when you swap gas for induction.
Bathroom electrics
We install bathroom electrics in Seville, Spain following the protection zones of ITC-BT-27: earthed sockets where they are allowed, extractor fan, electric towel rail, illuminated mirror and equipotential bonding. For renovations and for bathrooms that give you small shocks or trip the power today.
Electrical installations in Seville built to the REBT
An electrical installation is not just cable: it is a fuse board (breaker panel) sized for your power, circuits separated by use, earthing (grounding) that works and protection devices that trip when they should. All of this is set by the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation (REBT, Royal Decree 842/2002) and its technical instructions, the Spanish equivalent of the UK wiring regulations. ITC-BT-25, for example, distinguishes between basic electrification (minimum 5,750 W) and high electrification (minimum 9,200 W), and splits a home into circuits C1 to C12: lighting, sockets, cooker and oven, washing machine and water heater, bathroom, air conditioning and so on.
We work in the three usual scenarios:
- A new home or extension, with the complete installation, the technical report and the new supply (paperwork from 160 euros, plus the distribution company’s connection fees).
- A full or partial renovation, when you change the kitchen, the bathrooms or the layout and the wiring has to follow.
- Rewiring an old apartment, when what is there is no longer safe or cannot cope with what you plug in today.
- New sockets and light points in a home that is already finished: 30 to 50 euros per simple fitting.
When it is time to rewire
Seville has thousands of flats from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, in neighbourhoods such as Nervión, Los Remedios, El Porvenir and the Macarena, with installations designed for 3 kW, no earthing and two or three circuits. These are clear signs it is time to rewire:
- Cloth-covered or aluminium cables, or joints without a junction box.
- A fuse board with fuses, no RCD, or a single RCD for the whole home.
- Sockets (outlets) without earth, or that get hot.
- The power tripping every time the air conditioning, oven and washing machine coincide.
- An installation more than 25 or 30 years old that nobody has checked.
As a market reference, rewiring a 70 to 100 m² flat costs between 3,600 and 6,500 euros plus VAT.
Fuse board, earthing and contracted power
The fuse board is the heart of the installation. A modern one has a main switch, RCDs, a circuit breaker for each circuit and a surge protector (ITC-BT-17, ITC-BT-23 and ITC-BT-25). If yours is old or trips for no clear reason, a fuse board replacement usually costs between 300 and 800 euros, and 450 to 1,200 euros in old homes that need more adaptation.
Earthing is checked by measurement, not by eye. And if you want an induction hob, air conditioning in every bedroom or an EV charger, you may need to increase your contracted power, the potencia contratada in kW that appears on your bill: we check the riser cable and the main switch, issue the boletín and deal with the distribution company. For heavy loads we also convert single-phase supplies to three-phase, for 600 to 2,000 euros depending on the length of the riser cable.
The boletín, legalisation and paperwork
The electrical certificate (boletín), officially the CIE, is signed by a registered installation company and filed with the Junta de Andalucía. It comes with a technical design report (MTD) when the installation does not need a full engineer’s design (ITC-BT-04). In Seville, the average price of a simple boletín is around 70 euros plus VAT, and it rises when something must be upgraded before certifying. Only a company registered in Spain can sign it: a UK, Irish or German qualification is not enough on its own.
We also legalise installations that never had a boletín (600 to 3,000 euros), prepare for inspection by an authorised inspection body (OCA) when ITC-BT-05 requires it, and carry out checks with measurements so you know the state of your installation. If you have just bought a new-build home, see our new-build section.
Wiring work included in renovations
Conduits, chasing and cabling are not ordered as a job of their own: they are part of every renovation electrics project.
- Conduits, chasing and hidden or surface wiring. Cable is either recessed (a chase in the wall with corrugated conduit, invisible once filled) or run on the surface with trunking or rigid conduit, the solution when you want no building work, in rented flats or in stone and brick walls. Conduits follow ITC-BT-20 and ITC-BT-21; a new run costs 15 to 35 euros per metre.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rewire a flat in Seville, Spain?
For a 70 to 100 m² flat (apartment), a full rewire usually costs between 3,600 and 6,500 euros plus VAT, and can approach 7,000 euros in very old homes. The price depends on the number of points, how much chasing into the walls is needed and the fuse board. After the visit we give you a fixed written quote.
When is the boletín (electrical certificate) compulsory?
You need it to connect a new electricity supply, to increase your contracted power, to switch from single-phase to three-phase and when an installation more than 20 years old has to be certified again. It is issued by a registered installation company, which files it with the Junta de Andalucía together with the technical design report (MTD).
Can I increase my potencia without changing the wiring?
Sometimes. If the riser cable (derivación individual) and the main switch can take the new power, the boletín and the paperwork with the distribution company are enough. If the cable or the fuse board fall short, they must be upgraded first. We check this on the visit and explain which option works out best for you.
Does my home need earthing (grounding)?
Yes. Every home installation built to the REBT has earthing (ITC-BT-18 and ITC-BT-26), and without it the RCD cannot protect you properly from a leak. Many flats in Seville built before the 1980s have none, or it is in poor condition. We measure it and, if needed, install or improve it.
