Emergency electrician in Tomares, a town of villas

Tomares has about 25,492 residents and sits high on the Aljarafe ridge, right next to Triana and Los Remedios. Almost everything is detached or semi-detached houses on their own plot, many built between the 1980s and 2000s, and that completely changes the calls we get. Here we are rarely called about a bedroom socket with no earth: we are called because the whole house has gone dark with the air conditioning on, because the pool trips everything or because the gate will not open. We give you the estimated time when you call. The general service is described on our 24-hour emergency electrician page.

August in Aljamar and El Zaudín: a limiter that cannot cope

Installations on the Tomares estates are usually sound inside, but they have taken on loads nobody planned: a split unit in every room, a heat pump for the pool, oven, induction hob and now an EV charger. On very hot nights, everything together goes over the contracted power and the limiter cuts out. The immediate fix is to spread the loads; the lasting one is deciding whether to increase contracted power or fit a load manager.

The pool: the other source of faults

Tomares is probably the Aljarafe town where we attend the most outdoor emergencies, and the pool tops the list:

  1. The pump trips the RCD because of moisture in the motor or in the junction box of the plant room.
  2. The pool control panel is old, with no RCD of its own, so any fault blacks out the whole house.
  3. Underwater lighting runs at 230 V instead of 12 V, something worth correcting as soon as possible.

During the emergency we isolate the pool so you get the house back; refurbishing the panel and the equipotential bonding come later, calmly. See swimming pool electrics.

Autumn storms: gates, entry phones and appliances

Autumn storms bring voltage surges, and a villa with an electric gate, entry phone, alarm and smart home has plenty that can be damaged. Typical calls: a dead gate motor with the car inside, an alarm without power or breakers that will not reset. We check what has been damaged and, if your board has no surge protector, we suggest adding one; more on surge protection and automatic gates.

Altos del Aire: new flats with a communal garage

In the upper part of town, by the Olivar del Zaudín park, Altos del Aire adds more than 450 Grupo Insur homes in several phases. Emergencies here look more like those of a new flat than a villa: a badly connected lamp, a brand-new appliance or the communal garage lighting. To learn more about the neighbourhood, see our Altos del Aire new-build page.

What an emergency costs in Tomares

A call-out in working hours costs 50 to 100 euros plus 21 % VAT, and 100 to 200 euros at night, at weekends or on holidays, with a possible travel supplement of 15 to 30 euros outside the city. In a villa, the most common repairs are replacing an RCD damaged by an outdoor leak, 50 to 200 euros, or a breaker, 40 to 90 euros. You get the price of your repair beforehand, and the rest is on our prices page. For chargers, solar panels or garden work, go to electrician in Tomares.

Frequently asked questions

My villa gate will not open after a storm and the car is inside. Can you come?

Yes. After a storm it is common for the gate motor to lose power through a tripped protection device, or for its control board to be damaged by a surge. We check the line and the protection, help you release it manually if the motor allows, and if the board is burnt we tell you how to replace it.

Why does the power cut out in August when it never happens in winter?

Because in August a Tomares villa runs air conditioning in every room, the pool pump and the kitchen at once, and the total exceeds your potencia contratada, the maximum power in your electricity contract. The meter's built-in limiter (ICP) then switches everything off. It is not a wiring fault but a sizing issue. That night we help you spread the loads; afterwards we look at raising the power or fitting a load manager.

Is it dangerous that my pool light runs at 230 volts?

Yes. Regulation ITC-BT-31 requires safety extra-low voltage, 12 V, for lights inside the pool. An old 230 V light with a damaged seal can leak into the water. If the RCD also trips when you switch it on, do not use it and do not swim until we have checked it.

Do you also cover emergencies in the new Altos del Aire flats?

Of course. In Mistral, Siroco and the other phases we attend both your home and the communal garage. If the fault comes from the construction, we give you the diagnosis in writing so you can report it to the developer; if it is an appliance or something added later, we repair it during the visit.

Power limiter tripping

If your smart meter keeps cutting the power when you switch several things on at once, the ICP power limiter is tripping because you are exceeding your contracted power (potencia contratada). We review your consumption and your installation and tell you whether organising your appliances is enough or whether it is worth increasing the power in Seville, Spain.

Storm damage

If a storm or a power surge has left your home without electricity, burnt out the router or the appliances, or the RCD will no longer reset, a storm damage electrician checks the installation in Seville, Spain, replaces the damaged protections, tests the appliances and gives you a report for your home insurance claim.

RCD keeps tripping

If your RCD keeps tripping and will not stay up, there is a current leaking to earth somewhere in a circuit or an appliance. We locate it with an insulation tester, repair it and check that your RCD (GFCI) protects you as it should.

Swimming pool electrics

We carry out swimming pool electrical installation in Seville, Spain and the Aljarafe under ITC-BT-31: a filtration pump control panel with timer and protection devices, pump connection, 12 V LED lights, weatherproof sockets and equipotential bonding, with the installation legalised. We also repair the pump that will not start and the RCD that trips when the filtration switches on.

Driveway gates and property gates

We fit the sliding gate motor or swing gate motors on your property in Seville, Spain to automate the driveway gate: motor, photocells, warning lamp, receiver and remotes, with a protected power cable from the house fuse box. We also repair motors that do not respond, gates that stop halfway and remotes that will not open.
