Smart home
Smart home installation for your home in Seville, Spain
A smart home installer in Seville, Spain lets you control lights, blinds, air conditioning, access and energy use from your phone or by voice. We design the system around your home, wired or wireless, install it, programme it and show you how to use it.

What a smart home installation is and what it can do for you
A smart home (domótica in Spanish) is home automation: lights, blinds, awnings, air conditioning, access, sensors and electricity use connected to each other and controlled from your phone, a wall panel or by voice. It is not about filling the house with gadgets, but about the home doing on its own what you repeat every day.
Some examples of what we do in homes in Seville:
- “Leaving home” scene: with a single button every light goes off, the west-facing blinds come down and the air conditioning switches off.
- Automatic blinds and awnings that come down on their own during the sunniest hours of summer and retract with the wind so the awning is not damaged.
- Lights that switch on by themselves in corridors and bathrooms at night, at low intensity.
- Climate controlled remotely: you switch on the air conditioning from your phone half an hour before you get home.
- Phone alerts if there is a water leak, smoke or someone rings the video door entry while you are out.
- Consumption on screen: you see in an app what the home is using at each moment.
Useful if you spend time away from Seville
If you split your year between Spain and another country, or rent out your home for part of it, a smart home installer in Seville solves very practical problems: checking from abroad that the air conditioning is off, lowering the blinds before a heatwave, receiving a leak alert or letting someone in through the video door entry. All of it works from the same app wherever you are.
What we can automate
| System | What we do |
|---|---|
| Lighting | Switching, dimming, scenes and schedules |
| Blinds and awnings | Tubular motors, push buttons, sun and wind sensors |
| Climate | Connected thermostats for air conditioning, aerothermal heat pumps or underfloor heating |
| Access | Video door entry with opening from your phone, smart lock |
| Safety | Connected flood, smoke and gas sensors |
| Energy | Consumption meter, management of the EV charger and the solar panels |
If you are starting with lighting, see also light fitting installation and downlights installation: we leave them ready to be integrated.
Wired or wireless smart home
There is no best system for every home. We choose according to the stage your home is at and what you want to control:
- Wireless home automation (Zigbee, Z-Wave, wifi, Matter). Installed in the boxes that already exist, with no chasing, by replacing switches and controls with smart models. It is the natural option in a flat that is already lived in and it integrates with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home.
- Wired KNX home automation. Its own control bus, with actuators in the fuse board and professional programming. It is very reliable and expandable, the standard in high-end homes and buildings, and it should be planned in a new build or a full renovation.
- Mixed systems. The most common in practice: wired where the building work allows it (blinds, fuse board, climate) and wireless for what is added later.
Matter is a common standard that lets equipment from different brands talk to each other, so you do not depend on a single manufacturer.
Smart homes in new builds: the best moment
New-build homes in Seville are handed over with elevated electrification, which includes a circuit provided for home automation, and many developments come with motorised blinds only in the living room. Extending motorisation to the rest of the home, adding scene-based lighting control or integrating the thermostat and the video door entry is much simpler and cheaper before furnishing than with the home lived in.
It is what we suggest to people who have just received the keys in Entrenúcleos (Dos Hermanas), Palmas Altas and Isla Natura, Jardines Hacienda del Rosario in Sevilla Este or the new estates of Tomares, Mairena del Aljarafe and Bormujos. In the penthouses of those developments, a motorised awning with a wind sensor is almost essential. You will find more ideas for new homes in our new-build section.
In villas and detached houses, home automation also brings in irrigation, garden lighting, the pool pump, the gate and the management of the solar panels and the EV charger, to charge when there is spare energy. See solar panels and home EV charger installation.
How we work
- First conversation. You tell us how you live at home, what bothers you and what you would like to happen on its own. With that and the floor plan, we prepare a proposal.
- Technical visit. We check the fuse board, the switch boxes, the blind boxes and the wifi coverage.
- Proposal and fixed quote, with the equipment, the scenes and what can be added later.
- Installation of controls, motors, actuators, sensors and gateways, with the electrical side done to the regulations.
- Programming of scenes, schedules and automations, and integration with your voice assistant.
- Training and fine-tuning. We show you how to use it and come back to adjust whatever is needed after you have lived with it for a few days.

Regulations
Home automation and technical energy management installations in homes are governed by ITC-BT-51 of the Spanish Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation. As a quality reference there is also AENOR specification EA0026 for home automation installations, and KNX systems follow standard UNE-EN 50090. Blind and awning motors, smoke detectors and locks have their own product standards, and we choose equipment that meets them. When home automation touches the electrical installation (fuse board, circuits, motors), we do it like any other regulated job.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a smart home system cost in Seville, Spain?
As a reference, a flat of about 60 m2 costs around 1,500 euros plus 21 % VAT and a 120 m2 home around 2,500 euros plus VAT, with lighting, blinds and phone control. A complete detached house with every system can reach 20,000 euros plus VAT. The price depends mainly on how many points you want to control and whether the system is wired or wireless.
Can a smart home be installed without building work?
Yes. Wireless systems (Zigbee, Z-Wave, wifi or Matter) are installed by replacing switches, sockets and blind controls with smart models in the same boxes, without chasing walls. The guide price is 60 to 120 euros plus VAT per point installed. It is the usual option in flats that are already lived in.
Which is better, KNX or wireless?
KNX is a wired bus standard, very reliable and expandable, designed for high-end homes and buildings; it suits new builds or full renovations because it needs its own cabling. Wireless is cheaper and needs no building work, ideal for finished homes. We recommend one or the other depending on the home and how you use it.
Can I control my Seville home while I am abroad?
Yes. From the app you can switch on the air conditioning before you arrive, raise or lower blinds, check who rings the video door entry and get alerts if there is a water leak or smoke. Remote control needs the home internet connection, but the switches keep working by hand if the wifi goes down.
Is a new build a good time to add a smart home system?
It is the best time. Home automation pays off more in a new build or a full renovation than in a finished home, because the work is done with the home empty. Homes with elevated electrification also come with a circuit provided for automation, and many developments only motorise the living room blinds.
Can existing roller blinds be motorised?
Yes, in most cases. The axle is replaced by a tubular motor inside the blind box and the switch is replaced by a push button or a smart control. Motorising six blinds costs about 1,200 euros plus VAT, and a single blind 180 to 300 euros plus VAT.
Does it work with Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home?
Yes. We choose equipment that integrates with the assistant you already use, and more and more devices are compatible with Matter, the standard that lets you mix brands. So you can switch on lights, lower blinds or change the temperature by voice or from a single app.
Can I see how much electricity the home uses?
Yes, with a smart meter in the fuse board that shows consumption in real time and by circuit in an app. It helps you find what uses the most, adjust your contracted power and, if you have an electric car or solar panels, manage energy better. Fitted, it costs 120 to 300 euros plus VAT.
Can the system be extended later?
Yes. We size it to grow: you can start with lights and blinds and add the thermostat, the lock, the video door entry or water and smoke sensors later. We choose open protocols compatible with Matter so you are not tied to one brand and can add new devices.
