What a smart thermostat does

A smart thermostat replaces your old thermostat and connects it to the internet. From your phone you can switch the heating or air conditioning on before you get home, set different temperatures for morning, afternoon and night, see how long it has been running and switch it off if you left it on. Some learn your routine or detect when you leave home. Smart thermostat installation makes a lot of sense in Seville with its summer heat: arriving at a home that is already cool without having the air conditioning on all day.

Which equipment it works with

• Gas or oil boilers: a Wi-Fi thermostat in place of the room thermostat, via an on and off contact or the boiler’s own protocol.
• Ducted air conditioning: a connected thermostat or a zoning system with motorised grilles for each room.
• Wall-mounted split units: a smart controller that replaces the infrared remote and lets you use it from your phone or by voice.
• Heat pumps (aerotermia): the manufacturer’s connected control or compatible thermostats, for heating, cooling and hot water.
• Underfloor heating: room thermostats that act on the valve heads of each circuit.
• Electric heating: radiators and panel heaters with Wi-Fi control, or programmers per circuit. See electric heating.

Before buying the device, we check your boiler, air conditioning unit or heat pump and tell you which models are compatible. That way you avoid the most common mistake: buying a thermostat that then cannot talk to your installation.

Zone control

In flats and villas with ducted systems, zone control is what brings the biggest saving and comfort: the bedroom at one temperature, the living room at another and empty rooms not heated or cooled at all. We install a thermostat for each zone and integrate them so everything is handled from one app. If your air conditioning does not yet have a proper electrical supply, we provide it with our air conditioning circuit service.

Climate control as part of the smart home

The thermostat is part of the smart home. Integrated with the other devices, it allows useful automations:

• When you leave home, a single scene switches off the climate control and the lights and lowers the shutters.
• If you open a window, a contact sensor switches off the air conditioning in that zone.
• In summer, the south-facing motorised blinds come down at midday and the air conditioning works less.
• By voice, with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home.

3. We install and connect the thermostat to the boiler, the unit or the heat pump, and to your Wi-Fi.
4. We programme schedules and temperatures to suit your routine and link it to your voice assistant.

Regulations

The electrical part complies with ITC-BT-51 of the Spanish Low Voltage Electrical Regulations on automation systems. In heating, cooling and hot water installations, the controls respect the Spanish Regulation on Thermal Installations in Buildings (RITE).
