EV charger repair, servicing and maintenance in Seville, Spain
If you need EV charger repair in Seville, Spain, we diagnose the fault in the unit itself and in the installation that feeds it: protection devices, cable, connector, internet connection, load balancing and firmware. We work on any brand, whether we installed it or not.

EV charger repair when your wallbox will not charge
A charger that was working and suddenly stops usually has a simple explanation, but it has to be found methodically, because the fault can be in the unit, in the installation that feeds it, in the settings or in the car. For EV charger repair in Seville we check that whole chain, so you are not left guessing whether to call the manufacturer, the car dealer or an electrician.
The most common faults
- Tripped protection devices. The RCD or the circuit breaker on the charger circuit has tripped. If it happens again, it is not chance: there is leakage or an overload that needs to be found.
- DC detector trips. Almost every quality charger has a 6 mA DC detector (RDC-DD). If it acts, the cause may be a fault in the unit or in the car’s on-board charger.
- Load balancing set up wrongly. If the dynamic load balancing clamp is badly positioned or disconnected, the charger may stay at the minimum or not start at all.
- Lost connection. The charger loses the garage Wi-Fi and stops obeying the app or the schedule. It is very common in communal garages with poor signal.
- Forgotten schedule. An off-peak charging schedule set in the app or the car that prevents charging at other times.
- Damaged cable or connector. Being trodden on, hit by the car or simply used every day wears out the lead and the type 2 connector.
- Power surges. Summer storms in Seville can damage the electronics if the installation has no surge protection.
- Outdated firmware. Some communication faults with new cars are solved by updating the charger software.
How we diagnose the fault
- We check the fuse board and protection devices on the charger circuit and its earthing (grounding).
- We test the installation: cable insulation, voltage at the charger and RCD operation.
- We check the settings: maximum power, load balancing, schedules and connection to the app.
- We test the unit under real load and, where possible, with your car.
- We give you the diagnosis and the quote before repairing: new cable or connector, replacement protection devices, a new Wi-Fi repeater or a warranty claim with the manufacturer.
Servicing and maintenance of charging points
Home chargers have no compulsory maintenance under the regulations, but they do benefit from some care:
- Every month: press the test button on the charger RCD.
- When an update is released: install the new firmware from the app.
- Once a year: a check of connections with a thermal imaging camera, a test of the RCD and the surge protector, cleaning, and inspection of the cable and connector.
Installations with an engineering project, above 50 kW, and garages with more than 25 spaces also have a periodic inspection by an authorised inspection body (OCA) every 5 years. Companies with fleets can include their charging points in a maintenance contract together with the OCPP software. If you would rather not think about it, the yearly charger service can be part of our home maintenance plan.

Manufacturer’s warranty
The legal warranty is two years, and manufacturers such as Wallbox or V2C extend it to three. If your charger is under warranty, we do not open it without speaking to the manufacturer first: we carry out an external diagnosis, document the fault and help you arrange the repair or replacement. We know the main brands installed in Seville, which we review on our EV charger brands page.
Garages and homes where we see it most
In the underground garages of new developments in Sevilla Este, Palmas Altas or Entrenúcleos, signal is the weak point: under several floors of concrete the charger easily loses Wi-Fi, and a repeater or a cable connection is advisable. In villas in Mairena, Tomares or Bormujos, with the charger in the porch or on the façade, storms and damp are the bigger concern. And in flats with low contracted power (potencia contratada), a charger installed without load balancing ends up tripping the power limiter (ICP). If your charger has had problems from the start, the fault may lie in the original installation: we review the home EV charger for houses or the one in the communal garage and bring it into line with ITC-BT-52. If the RCD trips in the rest of the home too, see RCD keeps tripping. Every charging option is on the EV charger installation page.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my wallbox not charging?
The most common causes are a tripped protection device in the fuse board, load balancing holding the charge at the minimum because the home is using a lot, a forgotten charging schedule, a lost connection to the app or a fault in the cable or connector. Less often it is the electronics of the charger itself.
Do you repair chargers of any brand?
Yes. We diagnose Wallbox, V2C, Circutor, Tesla, Schneider, Simon and other brands, whether we installed them or not. If the fault is internal and the unit is under warranty, we help you claim it from the manufacturer with a written diagnosis.
What warranty does a charger have?
The legal warranty in Spain is two years. Several manufacturers, such as Wallbox or V2C, give three. Before opening a unit under warranty we speak to the manufacturer, because unauthorised handling can void it. We give you a written diagnosis so you can claim without losing time.
Does a home charger need maintenance?
There is no compulsory maintenance under the regulations for home chargers. It is wise, though, to press the RCD test button once a month, keep the firmware up to date and have a yearly check of connections and protection devices, especially in hot garages.
How much does it cost to check or repair a charger?
The diagnostic visit costs 60 to 120 euros plus 21 % VAT depending on the area and the urgency. A full yearly service with thermal imaging costs roughly 80 to 150 euros plus VAT. If the cable, connector or a protection device has to be replaced, we give you a fixed price first.
The RCD trips every time I charge. Is it serious?
It is a warning that something is wrong: it may be leakage in the cable or socket, damp in the enclosure, the wrong type of RCD or a fault in the car's on-board charger. Do not keep resetting it: the installation has to be tested and the unit checked before charging again.
My holiday home charger has not been used for months. What should I check?
Before relying on it, press the RCD test button, check that the charger reconnects to the Wi-Fi and the app, and install any pending firmware update. If it was exposed to summer storms with no surge protection, or it shows an error, ask for a diagnostic visit before your next stay.
