Temporary site power in Seville: the board that gets the site moving from day one

A building site does not start until it has power. The crane, the concrete mixer, the cabins, the lighting of work areas and the tools all need a safe supply from the first day. We set up temporary site power in Seville, Spain with its board, earthing and documents, and adapt it as the works progress until the permanent supply arrives.

We also build temporary installations for trade fairs, stands, conferences, concerts, filming, markets and private events, where the installation has to go up fast, work without failures for a few days and come down without leaving a trace.

What a temporary site installation includes

• Power calculation for the crane, machinery, cabins and lighting.
• Temporary supply connection from the point the distributor indicates.
• Main site board with a weatherproof enclosure, lock, main switch, RCDs and circuit breakers for each outgoing circuit.
• Sub-boards for each floor or area of the site.

Temporary installations for fairs, stands and events

1. Trade fair and conference stands: board, lighting, sockets and screens, under ITC-BT-34.
2. Concerts and shows: distribution for sound and lighting, with separate circuits so one fault does not leave the stage in the dark.
3. Filming: supply points for lighting and equipment, with or without a generator.
4. Markets, marquees and private events: sockets, festoon lighting, general lighting and catering.

Safety in installations that go up and come down

A temporary installation takes more punishment than a fixed one: cables that get trodden on, boards out in the open, rain, dust and non-specialists all around. That is why we take particular care with:

• High-sensitivity RCDs on the sockets where tools and portable equipment are plugged in.
• Protection rating of boards, sockets and joints suited to outdoor use.
• Protected cable routes, never crossing vehicle or public walkways without cable protectors.
• Earthing at every board.
• Testing before the event opens or the machinery starts.
