IDAE (Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía)
Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy, a public body attached to the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition. It designs and manages grant programmes for efficiency, renewables and electric mobility, usually processed by the regional governments.
What the IDAE is
The IDAE, Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía, is a public body attached to the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. Its role is to promote energy saving, renewables and electric mobility in Spain.
What it does
- Designs national grant programmes for energy efficiency, solar self-consumption and electric mobility.
- Shares the funds out among the regional governments, which receive and decide the applications.
- Publishes technical guides, studies and energy statistics.
- Takes part in managing EU recovery funds.
How its grants reach Seville
In most programmes you do not apply to the IDAE directly, but to the Junta de Andalucía, the regional government, which manages the funds allocated to it. That is why you often see a scheme with a national name and a regional call with its own deadlines and conditions.
EV chargers in 2026
The best known programme was MOVES III, which funded electric cars and charging points and closed applications on 31 December 2025. As of 24 October 2026:
- The Auto+ Programme (Royal Decree 609/2026) funds vehicles, but not chargers.
- The 15 % income tax (IRPF) deduction for installing a charger at your home remains in force until 31 December 2026, with a maximum base of 4,000 euros.
