Background music installation in Seville, Spain for homes and businesses

Well-distributed music changes a space: a living room with discreet speakers in the ceiling, a kitchen where you hear the radio without turning it up, a bar with even sound at every table or a shop where you can make an announcement without shouting. We carry out background music installation in Seville with recessed speakers, an amplifier and simple controls, and PA systems for announcements in business premises and apartment buildings. In Spain this is often called hilo musical.

What it includes

  • Recessed speakers in the ceiling or wall, round or square, sitting flush and painted the colour of the ceiling if needed.
  • Amplifier or receiver with zoned outputs, in a cabinet or in the data cabling rack.
  • Sound sources: phone via Bluetooth or wifi, music platforms, radio or microphone.
  • Control with a wall panel, an app or integrated into your smart home installation.
  • PA system with an announcement microphone that takes priority over the music.
  • Hidden cabling through the false ceiling or conduit, with no cables on show.

Where we install it

  • Bars and restaurants. In the city centre and in Triana many venues occupy the ground floors of old buildings with high ceilings and thick walls: here you need more speakers at lower volume so the sound is even and does not disturb the neighbours. We coordinate it with the electrical work for bars and restaurants.
  • Shops and offices. Background music on the sales floor and zoned announcements, combined with retail and office lighting when the premises are refurbished.
  • Homes. Living room, kitchen, terrace and bathroom. In renovated flats in Nervión or Los Remedios with a new false ceiling, and in villas in Tomares with speakers on the porch, it is a frequent job.
  • Apartment buildings and shared areas. PA in communal pools, gyms or meeting rooms of new developments such as those in Sevilla Este.

How we work

  1. We look at the space and talk about how you use it: background music, parties, announcements.
  2. We design the zones and the number of speakers so the sound reaches every corner equally.
  3. We give you a fixed price with the proposed equipment.
  4. We install the speakers, the cabling and the amplifier, and connect the sources.
  5. We adjust volumes and zones with you and show you how to use it.

If you also want to hide the cables of the TV or the soundbar, we do it on the same visit with hiding cables.

Price

This service is quoted to measure. The cost depends on the number of speakers and zones, the amplifier chosen, the type of ceiling and whether the cabling can run through a false ceiling or needs a conduit. We give you a fixed price, plus 21 % VAT, after the visit. You can see other references on the prices page.

Regulations

Speakers, audio cabling and controls run at very low voltage and are installed under ITC-BT-36 of the Spanish Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation. When the PA must serve for voice evacuation, the system has to comply with the UNE-EN 54-16 standard and with whatever the fire protection design of the premises sets. The rest of our signal and security installations are under telecoms and security.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to install background music at home?

It is quoted to measure, because putting two speakers in the living room is very different from wiring the whole home with independent zones. The number of speakers, the amplifier, whether the ceiling is plaster or solid and the distance to the equipment all count. With a few photos and a floor plan we give you a first figure.

Can speakers go in the ceiling without building work?

In plaster or plasterboard (drywall in the US) ceilings, yes: we cut a hole the size of the speaker and run the cable above the false ceiling. In solid ceilings with no void, a small chase or a surface solution is needed. Renovations and new builds are the best moment to leave it ready.

Can I play different music in each room?

Yes, with a zoned system: the amplifier splits the sound into areas and each one has its own volume and source. At home you can have music in the kitchen and silence in the bedrooms; in a bar, background music in the dining room and a lower volume on the terrace.

What is the difference between background music and a PA system?

Background music is designed for good-quality sound in the background. A PA system prioritises speech intelligibility for announcements, for example in a shop, a warehouse or a car park. Many systems do both: background music that lowers itself automatically when someone makes an announcement on the microphone.

Is the PA in my premises valid for evacuation?

Only if it is a voice evacuation system designed for that purpose, in line with the UNE-EN 54-16 standard and whatever the fire protection design of the premises requires. A conventional background music system does not replace it. If your premises need one, we tell you which requirements apply before installing anything.

Can you put speakers on the terrace or by the pool of my villa?

Yes. Speakers on the porch are a frequent request in villas in Tomares and the rest of the Aljarafe. We use models suited to outdoor use, run the cable hidden and set them up as their own zone, so you can play music outside at a different volume from the living room.
