UPS installation for businesses and shops in Seville, Spain: uninterruptible power
UPS installation for businesses and shops in Seville, Spain, so that a power cut or a micro-cut does not knock out the server, the till, the phone system, the cameras or the shop shutter. We size the unit for the power and autonomy you need, install its protected line and leave it tested.

UPS installation for businesses in Seville: so a power cut does not stop your work
A one-second power cut is enough to restart the server, lose a sale at the till, interrupt the camera recording or leave the shop shutter half down. A UPS (uninterruptible power supply, known in Spain as a SAI) keeps that equipment running without a break while the supply comes back, or for just long enough to shut it down safely.
We carry out UPS installation in offices, shops, clinics, bars and restaurants and warehouses in Seville, Spain, with its protected line from the fuse board and a tested start-up.
Which equipment is worth protecting with a UPS
- Servers and computers, where a sudden shutdown can corrupt data.
- Tills, card terminals and scales in shops and hospitality.
- Phone systems, routers and network equipment, so you do not lose the connection. If the network needs tidying too, see data cabling.
- Security recorders and cameras, so there are no gaps in the recording, as we explain in CCTV installation.
- Motorised shop shutters, so you can open or close without mains power.
- Medical and laboratory equipment that is sensitive to cuts.
- Access control and alarms.
Types of UPS
| Type | How it works | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Offline | Switches to batteries when the power goes | Computers and simple equipment |
| Line-interactive | Switches and corrects small voltage variations | Offices, tills and networks |
| Online | Always feeds through its electronics, with no break | Servers and critical equipment |
How we size it
- Inventory of the equipment to be protected and its real consumption.
- Autonomy required: minutes for an orderly shutdown or time to keep working.
- Type of UPS according to how sensitive the equipment is.
- Protected line from the fuse board, with its own protection, separate from the rest.
- Orderly shutdown software for servers, when needed.
- Real test of a cut and of the autonomy with the equipment connected.
UPS, generator and surge protector
These three kinds of protection complement each other:
- The UPS covers a cut instantly, for minutes.
- The generator covers long cuts, hours if necessary, but takes a few seconds to start: that is why, in critical installations, the UPS bridges that gap. We explain it on our generators page.
- The surge protector in the fuse board protects the whole installation from spikes caused by lightning and voltage surges, as we describe on surge protection.
Regulations
- UNE-EN 62040: the standard for uninterruptible power systems.
- ITC-BT-28: in premises open to the public, where backup supplies and emergency lighting have their own requirements.
- ITC-BT-40: when the UPS works alongside a generator or another generating source.
UPS maintenance
Batteries degrade with time and heat, and they tend to fail without warning. A UPS with worn-out batteries protects nothing. We recommend checking it as often as the manufacturer indicates, running autonomy tests and changing the batteries in time. We include this in industrial maintenance.
UPS systems for Seville businesses
In the offices and shops of the city centre, Nervión and Triana, the usual job is protecting the server, the network, the tills and the shutter. In clinics and laboratories, sensitive equipment. And in the warehouses and offices of Sevilla Este, Dos Hermanas, Mairena del Aljarafe or Alcalá de Guadaíra, servers, access control, cameras and machine controls that cannot stop halfway through. If your premises are being fitted out, we include it in the electrical installation for shops and offices.
How we work
- Visit to see the equipment, the fuse board and where the UPS will go.
- Calculation of power and autonomy.
- Fixed quote covering the unit, the line and the installation.
- Installation of the protected line and the UPS, outside working hours if needed.
- Setting up the orderly shutdown and the alerts.
- Cut test with the real equipment connected.

Frequently asked questions
What is a UPS (SAI in Spanish) and what is it for?
It is an uninterruptible power supply: a unit with batteries that sits between the mains and your equipment and, if the power goes, keeps feeding it without interruption for a while. In Spain it is called a SAI. It lets a server or computer shut down in an orderly way, rides through micro-cuts and filters disturbances on the grid.
Which UPS do I need for my business?
It depends on the power of the equipment you want to protect and how long it must keep running without mains power. Holding on for a few minutes to shut down a server is not the same as keeping a till and a card terminal going for half an hour. We add up the loads, define the autonomy and choose the type and power of the UPS.
What is the difference between an offline, line-interactive and online UPS?
An offline UPS switches to batteries when the power goes, with a minimal break, and suits simple equipment. A line-interactive unit also corrects small voltage variations. An online UPS always feeds the equipment through its own electronics, with no break at all, and is the right choice for servers and critical equipment.
Can a UPS power the shop's roller shutter?
Yes. It is common in shops so the motorised shutter can be raised or lowered even when the power has gone. It is sized according to the motor power and the number of operations it must allow, and connected on its own line from the fuse board.
How often should UPS batteries be replaced?
Batteries degrade with time and heat, and a UPS with worn-out batteries may not last even a few seconds. Seville's summer heat makes this worse in unventilated rooms. They should be checked periodically, with an autonomy test, and replaced when the unit warns you or the test comes up short. We include it in the installation's maintenance.
