2.0TD tariff (tarifa 2.0TD)

The network access toll applied to supplies up to 15 kW, which covers almost every home and small business in Spain. It splits energy into three periods (peak, standard and off-peak) and power into two (P1 and P2).

What the 2.0TD tariff is

The 2.0TD is not an offer from a company but the access toll set by the energy regulator CNMC (Circular 3/2020) for every supply up to 15 kW. Whether you are on the regulated PVPC or a free market contract, if your contracted power is 15 kW or less your bill is calculated on the 2.0TD structure, which has two parts.

Three energy periods

The energy you use is split into three time bands with different prices: peak (punta), standard (llano) and off-peak (valle). Off-peak runs from 0 to 8 h plus all weekend and national public holidays; peak from 10 to 14 h and 18 to 22 h on weekdays; the rest is standard.

Two powers: P1 and P2

Your contracted power is also split in two: P1 for peak and standard, and P2 for off-peak. You can contract different values for each. The power charge costs roughly 30 euros per kW per year.

When it matters: the electric car

It is the typical case in Seville. If you have 4.6 kW contracted and want to charge the car at 7.4 kW overnight, you do not need to raise everything: many users raise only the off-peak power (P2) and keep the peak figure. The other option is a charger with dynamic load balancing, which adapts charging to what the house is using.

When to call an electrician

If the ICP trips, if you are adding an aerothermal heat pump or a charger, or if you think you pay for too much power, a consumption study with a meter (roughly 50 to 150 euros) tells you what to contract in P1 and P2. We do it through solar and energy efficiency in Seville, Spain.
