FAQ

How much does a boletín (electrical certificate) cost in Spain?

A boletín for a home in Seville, Spain costs roughly 70 to 150 euros plus VAT when the installation already complies, including the visit, tests, technical report and filing with the industry office. If the wiring needs upgrading first, the price rises: 100 to 300 euros for old installations and 600 to 3,000 euros for a full legalisation.

How much a boletín costs in Seville

The price of the boletín (the CIE electrical installation certificate) depends above all on one thing: whether your installation already complies or something must be fixed before it can be signed. Market references, as a guide:

In Seville boletines are advertised at 70 to 120 euros and 90 to 200 euros depending on the platform, which fits these ranges. VAT in Spain is 21 %.

What the price includes

  • The visit and tests: insulation, earthing (grounding) and RCD tripping.
  • The technical design report (MTD), normally included in the boletín.
  • Online filing with the Junta de Andalucía industry office.
  • Your copy for the distributor or whoever asks for it.

Why it sometimes costs more

  • Something needs upgrading: a missing RCD, poor earthing results or a fuse board without the required circuits. This is quoted separately.
  • Regional fees: some guides put them at 30 to 40 euros.
  • A full project is needed instead of a technical report, because of the power or type of premises (ITC-BT-04). An engineering project costs an estimated 400 to 1,500 euros.

Beware of a boletín without a visit

Whoever signs a boletín certifies that they have inspected and tested your installation and that it complies. A cheap boletín with nobody coming to your home does not protect you: if the distributor, your insurer or a buyer questions it, the problem is yours. Only a registered installation company can sign it.

How long it takes

Once the visit is done and with no upgrades, registration takes a few days; for EV chargers, 5 to 15 days is typical.
