Why prices vary so much

In Seville you will see adverts from 15 euros an hour to more than 40. The difference is usually in what is included: whether travel is extra, whether you pay for full hours, whether materials carry a mark-up, and whether the company is registered to issue the boletín (the official electrical certificate) and stands behind its work. A low hourly rate with lots of extras can end up dearer than a fixed price.

Hourly rate or fixed price

For a fault that is hard to diagnose, paying by the hour makes sense. For defined jobs such as a socket, a light, a fuse board or an EV charger, ask for a written fixed price: you know what you will pay before work starts.

How to get a quote with no surprises

  1. Describe the job and, if you can, send photos or a video: often that is enough for a fixed price without a visit.
  2. Ask what is included: travel, materials, VAT (IVA in Spain) and the boletín if needed.
  3. Check the company is a registered electrical installer (empresa instaladora habilitada): without that registration it cannot certify anything.
  4. Ask for an invoice when the job is done.

Quotes from photos and other ways to save you visits are explained in plans and support.
