Harmonics (armónicos)
Currents and voltages at frequencies that are multiples of 50 Hz and distort the electrical waveform. They are produced by electronic equipment such as LED drivers, variable speed drives, computers, chargers and UPS units, and can heat cables and trip protective devices.
High voltage (alta tensión)
Voltages above 1,000 V AC, used to transmit and distribute electricity to the transformer substations. These installations are governed by the Spanish High Voltage Regulations, not by the REBT.
High-immunity RCD (diferencial superinmunizado)
A reinforced RCD, usually type A, that filters out network disturbances and the small currents produced by LEDs, dimmers, computers or air conditioning, so it stops tripping for no reason while keeping the 30 mA protection.
Home automation (domótica)
Systems that automate and control the home (lights, blinds, climate, access, security and consumption) from your phone, by voice or with push buttons, or automatically according to schedules and sensors.
Home battery (batería doméstica)
A storage unit, usually lithium, that keeps the solar energy left over during the day so you can use it at night or at expensive hours. Homes usually have 5 to 15 kWh connected to a hybrid inverter.
Household circuits (circuitos de la vivienda)
The separate lines into which a Spanish home installation is divided, each with its own MCB in the board. ITC-BT-25 numbers them C1 to C12 and adds C13 for electric car charging.
